Materials

We work with a small network of trusted partners for our metals and gemstones. Our metal is cast by an experienced casting house we’ve partnered with since the beginning, and our stones are sourced through relationships with established cutters who prioritize quality and consistency.

All pieces are made from solid precious metals. Settings, pendants, and other structural elements are never plated or filled unless noted otherwise. Necklace chains may be made from sterling silver, gold-filled metal, rhodium-plated sterling silver, or solid gold, as detailed below.

 

Sterling Silver
All of our silver pieces are made in sterling silver, with sterling silver used throughout, including chains, earring posts, wires, and closed hooks. Our sterling silver does not contain nickel and is suitable for those with nickel sensitivities.

 

Silver Finishes
Silver pieces are available in three finishes: Satin, a soft, matte, silvery-white finish; High Polish, a bright, reflective finish; and Oxidized, a darkened, antiqued finish that is lightly polished to bring out depth and contrast.

 

Gold Karat Options
Our gold rings are available in both 14k and 18k gold. Some product listings may display only 14k options, but our designs can be made in 18k or higher-karat gold. Please reach out for info and pricing if interested.

 

Gold Finishes
Gold pieces are available in four finishes: Satin, a soft, velvety appearance; High Polish, a smooth, luminous finish with maximum reflection and shine; White Rhodium (available for white gold only), a crisp, bright white finish; and Polished Black Rhodium, a dark, reflective finish with bold contrast, depth, and drama.

 

Rhodium plating will gradually evolve and wear with use. Both white and black rhodium finishes can be reapplied when desired.

 

White Gold
Our traditional white gold alloy contains nickel. If you have a nickel allergy or sensitivity, please let us know before placing a white gold order. A nickel-free palladium white gold alloy is available upon request.

 

Chains
Silver necklaces are paired with sterling silver chains. By default, gold necklaces are paired with complementary chains: yellow gold with gold-filled chain, white gold with rhodium-plated sterling silver chain, and rose gold with rose gold-filled chain.

Solid gold chains and findings are also available for gold necklaces. Most designs can be upgraded to a 1.3mm solid gold cable chain. For necklaces with larger pendants, we offer a heavier 1.5mm solid gold cable chain with a lobster clasp.
